Where The AL West Clubs Play This Week

A bit late, forget to hit "publish" button yesterday. I'm just a caveman, your technology frightens and confuses me. So we've looked at the playoff probabilities and the chance the Mariners might have angered the baseball gods. Now it's time to get back to simply looking at the week ahead for each AL West club as we move into the second quarter of the season. Houston Astros (27-12)

The Astros face opposite ends of the spectrum this week. They finish their current road trip in Miami - they've already taken Game 1 from the last-place Marlins - before coming home to face the Indians. The Astros lost a series in Cleveland in April, one of the few they've lost all year.

Los Angeles Angels (20-21)

The Angels play the rest of the month out of the division. This week, the stay in the Big A, hosting first the Chicago White Sox and then the struggling New York Mets over the weekend. Bounce back week? They've already beaten the White Sox in Game 1 and they have played much better at home (13-8).

Texas Rangers (19-20)

The Rangers have won six in a row and are 7-3 in their last 10 games. They host the struggling Philadelphia Phillies starting tonight in Arlington, then travel north to take on the Detroit Tigers over the weekend.

Seattle Mariners (18-21)

In a hurry to get that four-game sweep in Toronto behind them, the Mariners already have taken the first game against the Athletics last night. They stay home all week, with a three-game series against the A's and followed by a four-game series over the weekend against the White Sox.

Oakland Athletics (16-22)

Oh, boy. Already reeling with four losses in a row, the A's dropped the first game in Seattle. They finish the series there and then go back to Oakland for a four-game series against the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox have struggled (by their standards), with a 19-18 record and a third place position in the AL East. The good news for the A's: they have a winning record at the Coliseum (11-8).
